Azerbaijan has gained complete control over the Nagorno-Karabakh region bordering Iran by liberating it from Armenia.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Pakistan Ali Alizada says the Azerbaijani flag has been hoisted after the Armenian army liberated the Aghbend area adjacent to Iran.

The Azeri Envoy said that the border between Iran and Azerbaijan has been completely secured after the control of Aghbend.

Ali Alizada added that the Azerbaijani army had liberated 20 more villages from the Armenian occupation, including the border area of Aghbend.

In his statement, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also expressed happiness over the liberation of the Aghbend border region from the control of the Armenian army.

Ilham Aliyev says he would like to congratulate the people of Azerbaijan on this occasion and pay tribute to his brave army.

It should be noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan have been fighting for several days over the Nagorno-Karabakh issue in which hundreds of people have been killed.

Twice attempts were made for a temporary ceasefire between the two countries, but violations soon followed.
