UAE’s Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has taken a dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

The Minister took to Twitter and shared a photo of himself as he was administered a coronavirus vaccine dose on Monday.

Along with the picture, Sheikh Zayed tweeted. ‘I thank the medical staff and the vaccinators. I wish everyone safety’.

Earlier on 16th October, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also got a vaccine dose. He had tweeted, “Corona vaccination is our way to return to normal life.”

The vaccination has been reported after the UAE approved the emergency use of the Covid-19 vaccine that is being tested in the country. According to the international news agency, the vaccine has been created by China’s Sinopharm and is now in the third and final stage of clinical trials. Authorities have found it safe and effective.

Other UAE ministers who have taken the Covid-19 vaccine include Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Abdulrahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Obaid Al Shamsi, director-general of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority; Noura Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Youth, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office was administered the vaccine on September 24.
