Donald Trump has rejected the election results right after US broadcasters CNN, NBC News and CBS News projected that Biden had won the election after winning the decisive state of Pennsylvania.

Trump said in a statement, “The simple fact is this election is far from over.”

Trump claimed that “Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor.”

Trump said that his legal team will start prosecuting his case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld.

Few hours ago, Donald Trump claimed on the social networking site Twitter that he had won by a big margin.

The message was enough to spread unrest among the American people and Trump supporters. Supporters of both parties took to the streets in several cities after President Trump called for a halt to the count. One party raised the slogan “Count every vote” and the other chanted “Stop the count”. The situation has taken a turn for the worse, with fears that violent protests could erupt if the election results are disputed.

President Trump has started a legal battle, but what will be his future? Questions are being raised about this.
