Dubai Updates Travel Advisories, Requirements Related To COVID-19

Dubai has updated to travel rules during the coronavirus pandemic, all passengers arriving from GCC countries have been exempted from the mandatory requirement of doing the pre-flight Coronavirus test.

According to the details, Dubai Airports has issued the travel update it received from the COVID-19 Command and Control Centre to its partners announcing that “effective from December 6, all passengers arriving (originating) from GCC countries are not required to conduct PCR test before arriving at DXB/DWC [Dubai International Airport/Al Maktoum International Airport].”

The travel update added that these passengers have to undergo “PCR test on arrival only.”

Subsequently, both Emirates and Fly Dubai posted the travel updates on their websites on Monday.

According to the travel update posted on the website of Emirates Airlines, all passengers arriving in Dubai from the GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman) are not required to take a COVID-19 PCR test prior to departure.

Note that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has witnessed a slight drop in Coronavirus cases here on Monday.

According to a statement from UAE’s Health Ministry, the country has recorded 1,148 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the tally of infections to 177,577.

Two more deaths are also reported due to COVID-19 complications, taking the country’s death toll to 594.

The new patients were detected after the ministry conducted 87,635 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, all of the patients are in stable condition and are receiving the necessary care.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery.

It also urged society to cooperate with health authorities and maintain physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

It also announced the recovery of a total of 579 more patients from the deadly virus, raising the total number of recoveries to 159,711.
