The Electoral College of the United States on Monday has confirmed that Joe Biden will be the nation’s next president.

According to the details, the presidential electors gave Joe Biden a majority of 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

While taking the stage at Wilmington, Delaware; he slammed Donald Trump and said that “What beats deep in the hearts of the American people is this: democracy,” Biden said, standing before a screen printed with the words “Office of the President-Elect.”

He said that “The flame of democracy was lit in this nation a long time ago, and we now know nothing, not even a pandemic or an abuse of power, and can extinguish that flame.”

Joe Biden later tweeted that:

“Today, the members of the Electoral College cast their votes for president and vice president.

And once again, the rule of law, our Constitution, and the will of the people have prevailed.

Our democracy—pushed, tested, and threatened—proved to be resilient, true, and strong.”

It should be noted that Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Wisconsin are the six battleground states that Biden won and Trump contested – electors gave Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris their votes in low-key proceedings. Whereas Nevada’s electors met via video link because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
