The authorities in China has announced a tightening of control measures for passengers arriving on direct flights from Canada and India.
According to the Chinese aviation authorities, the measures have been imposed in order to prevent the entry of individuals infected with the novel coronavirus.
As per the official notification, these routes will only be able to transport citizens from China and those other two countries.
The Chinese embassies will not grant travelers from third countries the health codes necessary to board planes bound for China. Moreover the official notice said that the airlines will be required to discourage ticket purchases for those using Canada and India as hubs with China.
Apart from this regulation, more stringent rules in monitoring the entry of people arriving from abroad through connections in third countries were reported
Beijing closed its borders to foreigners back in March 2020 and months later authorized the re-entry of individuals from some countries and with certain types of visa.
It is pertinent to mention here that India recorded 13,052 new Covid-19 cases in a single day, taking the tally to 1,07,46,183.
According to the Indian Union Health Ministry data, the country also registered 13,965 recoveries during this period, while 127 people have succumbed to the dread virus.
The death toll has climbed to 1, 54,274.
