Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has approved the construction of 800 new homes for Jewish settlers in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in the West Bank. The Occupied West Bank is already home to about 4.5 million Jews.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed Israeli authorities to delay approving the construction of 800 new homes for Jewish settlers as Israeli citizens in the occupied West Bank. Netanyahu’s order comes just days before the end of the term of pro-Israel US President Donald Trump.

A statement from Netanyahu’s office said on Monday, “Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered plans to build 800 new housing units (for settlers) in Judea and Samaria.” Work should be started ahead of time. ”

The official statement did not name the West Bank as the Occupied Palestinian Territory but used the term “Judea and Samaria”, the name given to the West Bank area mentioned in the Bible.

The Netanyahu government has announced early approval for the construction of hundreds of new homes for Jewish settlers in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, just in time to begin work on the project before the new US administration comes to power.

That’s because Republican President Trump has made a number of decisions about Israel during his tenure that have not been seen by any Democratic president in decades.

Contrary to Donald Trump’s political stance, newly elected US Democrat President Joe Biden, has made it clear that he will follow the previous US policy of opposing Israeli plans to expand Jewish settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
