London Mayor Sadiq Khan has made a shocking statement saying that the spread of coronavirus in London is out of control and one out of every 30 people is infected with the deadly virus.
Taking to his Twitter, Sadiq Khan posted a video talking to his people and wrote,
“At this critical moment for our city – I want to speak directly to Londoners. I know we’ve all made huge sacrifices in recent months. But we cannot afford to be complacent for even a second. This virus is out of control. Please stay at home.”

In the video, the Mayor said,
“I have declared a major incident in London because the threat this virus poses to our city is at crisis point. One in 30 Londoners now has COVID-19. If we do not take immediate action now, our NHS could be overwhelmed and more people will die.”
Sadiq Khan’s statement has spread like wildfire in the UK. Based on the latest figures from Public Health England, the prevalence of coronavirus in London has risen sharply, according to the British Office for National Statistics.
It is estimated that one in 30 people in London is infected with the coronavirus. Sadiq Khan told the BBC’s political correspondent Carl Mercer that in some parts of London the number was 1 in 20.
