Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday removed a cover photo from his Twitter header in which he and US President Donald Trump were on the frame.
At such a time, Netanyahu’s removal of this photo is giving the impression that he wants to separate from his political ally, who is facing possible impeachment.
The photo of Netanyahu sitting with Trump during a meeting at the White House has long been on Netanyahu’s official Twitter account as a symbol of the Israeli prime minister’s close relationship with the US president.
Now Netanyahu’s account is decorated with another image of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu being vaccinated.
It should be noted that Netanyahu maintained the image of the US President on his account even after the defeat of Trump against the Democratic candidate Joe Biden in November 2020.
Note that, US security officials have warned of possible armed protests in the days before Joe Biden takes the oath.
There are reports that armed groups are planning to gather at all 50 state Capitols and Washington DC days before the inauguration.
Strict security plans have been made for the event.
Mr. Biden and Kamala Harris are likely to take oath at a ceremony at the Capitol on 20th January.
Security officials say they are resolute there will be no repeat of the breach seen on 6 January, when thousands of pro-Trump supporters were able to break into the building where members of Congress were voting to certify the election result.
Donald Trump Likely To Be Impeached The Second Time
House Democrats say a vote to impeach the president will happen on Wednesday.
Democrats have accused President Trump of “incitement of insurrection”. They say the vote will be held unless Vice-President Mike Pence invokes constitutional powers to remove Mr. Trump from office. There is no sign Mr. Pence is prepared to do so.
What Important Events Will Be Happening In The Coming Days?
According to the international news agency, the following events will take place till 20th January.
Tuesday: The House of Representatives will vote on a resolution according to which Vice-President Mike Pence and the cabinet will be called on to invoke the 25th Amendment to declare the president unfit for office and remove him immediately. The resolution is expected to pass as Democrats hold a majority. But Mike Pence has shown no sign of his actions.
Wednesday: Democrats have decided to hold an impeachment vote. President Donald Trump is likely to be the first president to be impeached twice. According to the international news agency, the single article of impeachment – a formal charge – will then need to be sent to the Senate where a trial will be held but the timeline is not known.
