The Saudi cabinet, in a meeting chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday, approved the quarterly issuance and renewal of the residency permit and Iqama.

This approval is for work permit holders. This decision will not apply to domestic staff and all employees who fall under its purview.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, the Saudi cabinet has approved the collection of work permit fees, accommodation fees and financial installments. This fee will be charged according to the length of stay.

It may be recalled that till now one year’s fees were being collected in one lump sum. The stay will now be valid for at least three months.

The Cabinet revoked the Diplomatic Quarters Authority and its administrative regulations and transferred all the duties, plans, rights and responsibilities of the Authority and its employees to the Riyadh Royal Authority.

The Saudi cabinet has also approved renaming the trainee Saudi Doctor program as a training program for health workers.

Non-doctors have also been included in training programs run by the Saudi Health Specialization Authority.

The Saudi cabinet has described the public investment strategy for the next five years as a cornerstone in fulfilling Saudi aspirations for economic growth, raising living standards and inclusive growth.

The Cabinet commended the Crown Prince for his speech on the glorious future of Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet said that these ideas will help drive the caravan of growth, improve economic growth and create economic diversification.

The Saudi cabinet has once again rejected all forms of terrorism. The cabinet strongly condemned the double suicide bombing in Baghdad and expressed full solidarity with Iraq in dealing with activities that threaten peace and stability.

The Saudi cabinet also reiterated its commitment to provide all resources for the health and safety of citizens and expatriates.
