An Iranian-backed Yemeni Houthi attack on the international airport in the southwestern Saudi city of Abha has set a plane on fire, Saudi-led Arab League stated.

The Arab League on Wednesday confirmed the Houthi attack and said the fire on a civilian plane had been contained.

The Arab League said in a statement that “attempting to target Abha International Airport and endangering the lives and property of civilian passengers is a war crime.”

“We are taking all necessary steps to protect our citizens,” he added.

Earlier, the Arab League said in a statement that it had destroyed two Houthi drones dropped from Yemen to Saudi Arabia. “The Houthis continue to violate international humanitarian law,” the coalition said in a statement. They are deliberately trying to target civilian targets in Saudi Arabia. ”
