‘If Trump Is Not Convicted He Can Do This Again’ Democrats Warns

Democrats said that former President Donald Trump could incite violence again if he is not convicted for what he did.

In a US Senate hearing this week against Donald Trump, members sought to hold the former president responsible for the January 6 violence.

Democrats presented CCTV footage and other evidence showing that President Trump had instigated the attack on the Congress building.

Democrats also testified in support of their case with eyewitness accounts of the riots, including those of police, intelligence officers, government employees and the international media.

The prosecution completed its arguments against the former president on Thursday. On Friday, Donald Trump’s team is going to present their case in his defense.

Lawyers and supporters of the former president say Trump is being targeted by the new government for political revenge and the allegations against him are baseless.

Trump has been accused of trying to make the November presidential election controversial and falsely accusing him of rigging. He provoked his supporters with his statements and speeches, which resulted in armed protesters storming the US Congress building on January 6.

On that day, several members of the Senate and their staff, including US Vice President Mike Pence and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, were forced to take refuge in different rooms of the building to save their lives. At least five people were killed and several were injured in the riots.

The US House of Representatives indicted President Trump last month before his term ended. Donald Trump is the only US president to be impeached by Congress twice in four years.

He was also indicted by the House of Representatives two years ago, but the Republican majority in the Senate refused to convict him. Once again, there is a strong possibility that Democrats will escape punishment because they do not have a two-thirds majority in the Senate.
