Nine people have got injured as a suspected suicide bomber blew himself outside a cathedral in Indonesia.
As per the details, the attack has happened outside a cathedral in the city of Makassar in South Sulawesi province in Indonesia on Sunday. The explosion had taken place at 10:28 a.m. local time.
According to the international news agency, five church workers and four worshippers have been injured.
South Sulawesi police spokesperson E. Zulpan told an international news agency that the congregation had been inside the church at the time of the explosion.
“We see that there are victims and parts of human bodies have been torn apart. We do not know yet whether they are from the perpetrator or from the people who were close by,” he said.
Father Wilhemus Tulak, a priest at the church, told reporters that the suspected bomber tried to enter the church grounds on a motorbike, but had been stopped by a security guard.
He said some of those wounded were in serious condition.
Police said that there was no immediate claim of responsibility.
