An order has been issued by President Joe Biden regarding homemade guns as these “ghost guns” are unregistered and untraceable.

He stated on Thursday, “Gun violence in this country is an epidemic, and it’s an international embarrassment.”

Biden spoke in the White House Rose Garden on Thursday. He said that 106 people are killed every day by guns in the country.

“This is an epidemic for God’s sake. And it has to stop.”

In the executive order, Biden has given the Justice Department 30 days to propose a rule that will help reduce the number of so-called “ghost guns”.

According to the international news agency, these guns are self-assembled, they do not contain any serial number and cannot be traced.

He said, “Anyone from a criminal to a terrorist can buy this kit and, in as little as 30 minutes, put together a weapon.”

Experts argue that these guns are used in criminal activities. According to federal firearms officials, over 40 percent of guns being seized in Los Angeles are ghost guns.

The Justice Department has been giving two months to establish a rule on stabilizing braces for pistols. The department has been asked to draft a “red flag law” that states can use to create their own legislation. Courts and law enforcement are authorized to remove guns from people thought to be risky.

After President’s address, a gunman killed one person and wounded five others at a cabinet-making shop in Bryan, Texas.

Five people, including two young children, were killed in South Carolina.
