Eight people have been killed and many wounded in mass shootings in the US city of Indianapolis.

As per the details, several gunshots were heard at a FedEx facility. One witness said that he saw a man firing an automatic weapon.

The international sources said that the gunman has reportedly killed himself. Authorities said that there was no further threat to public safety.

However, flights have not been disturbed from the nearby international airport, near the hub of FedEx Express Cargo airline.

City police spokeswoman Genae Cook said that “As officers arrived, they came into contact with an active shooting incident.”

“We have located eight people deceased at the scene, and many others with injuries.”

A FedEx statement said the company was aware of the shooting and cooperating with the authorities.

It said, “Safety is our top priority, and our thoughts are with all those who are affected.”
