THIS is the stunning moment a cargo jet broke in half on a runway after crashing landing at a Costa Rican airport.

The Boeing 757-200 was forced to make an emergency landing in Guatemala on Thursday morning due to a hydraulic system problem.

Shortly after departure, the aircraft operated by Deutsche Post AG requested an emergency landing at Juan Santamaria International Airport.

The DHL jet went off the runway after a tumultuous landing, forcing it to split in two.

The aftermath of the 10 a.m. collision is seen in extraordinary detail, with firefighters rushing to douse the wreckage with foam.

THIS is the incredible moment a cargo plane split in half on a runway after crashes landing at a Costa Rican airport.

Due to a hydraulic system malfunction, the Boeing 757-200 was forced to make an emergency landing in Guatemala on Thursday morning.

The aeroplane flown by Deutsche Post AG requested an emergency landing at Juan Santamaria International Airport shortly after takeoff.

After a difficult landing, the DHL flight veered off the runway and broke in two.

As it sprawls across a grassy area near the runway, the tail of the Boeing 757-200 is clearly separated.

The airport’s operator, Aeris, initially predicted that the airport would be closed until 6 p.m. local time.

Three cargo flights and 32 commercial flights to and from the United States, Central America, Mexico, Canada, and Europe would have been disrupted by the extended shutdown.

According to Luis Miranda Munoz, the deputy head of Costa Rica’s civil aviation authority, the Boeing 757-200 was on its way to Guatemala when it allegedly had a hydraulic system malfunction.

“Units mobilised to evacuate the pilot and co-pilot,” said Héctor Chaves, director of the Costa Rica Fire Department.

“They then used foam to prevent a spill, and they are presently working on an earthen barrier to keep any gasoline from entering the drainage system.”

A Boeing Co spokesman said the company will defer comments to the authorities investigating the incident.

DHL and airport authorities said they were collaborating to relocate the aircraft, which has no impact on operations.

“DHL’s incident response team has been alerted,” the haulage business noted, “and an investigation will be performed with the necessary authorities to discover what transpired.”

In November of last year, a Trump Organization Boeing 757-200 was forced to divert due to a “emergency.”

The plane was apparently on its way to Lake Charles, Los Angeles, for maintenance when it was forced to take an unplanned diversion.

It came to a halt in Nashville, with the twisting descending track implying that the pitstop was unplanned.
