The Education Authority (EA) has announced that it will face additional strike action from the Unite union for nearly two weeks following the Easter school break.

The EA expressed “very concerned” about the possible impact in a letter to principals seen by BBC News NI.

It stated that it has been advised of further action between 26 April and 1 May, as well as between Tuesday, 3 May, and Sunday, 8 May.

The EA stated in their letter to principals that this would result in “disruption to some education services”.

These include “a number of EA home-to-school transport (yellow bus) services, some school meal services, and the availability of a number of classroom assistants, particularly in special schools”.
