Workers in the public and private sectors in the UAE will be covered by unemployment insurance starting next year, according to Abdulrahman Al Awar.
Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation says that all workers in the private and public sectors in the UAE would be covered by a new unemployment insurance scheme.
It will help them find new jobs.
The new unemployment insurance plan is for all nationalities working in the UAE.
Investors, domestic workers, temporary workers, people under the age of 18 and elderly people with pensions who start a new job will not be covered in this plan.
The new initiative intends to increase Emirati employment in the private sector by rewarding enterprises that hire Emiratis.
In the next five years, the UAE has stated ambitions to make residents account for 10% of the private-sector labor.
The unemployment insurance plan aims to increase job market competitiveness.
It offers a social safety net for workers in the event of job loss, and provide a stable working environment for everybody.
