1 killed in alligator attack in Horry County. According to Michelle McSpadden, a deputy coroner for Horry County, an individual has passed away; following an alligator attack on Friday.  Following an alligator attack late on Friday morning; Horry County workers worked to save someone from the water.

Officials said that an alligator “had seized hold” of a person; they got in a retention bond when they were called to the Excalibur Court neighbourhood; in the Myrtle Beach region at 11:54 a.m.

Residents in the region got an emergency alert from the county;  they asked them to remain inside their houses due to a “animal assault.”

As of a 2:30 PM update, there was no danger to the neighbourhood.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and Horry County police were also present.

A cause of death has not been disclosed; nor has the person’s identify been made public. Officials said the alligator is out of the water; and is waiting for death.
