- Albania mourns the death of former President Bujar Nishani.
- Nishani died on Saturday in Germany, where he had been admitted to a hospital.
- Albania’s national flag will be flown at half-mast during Nishani’s funeral.
TIRANA: Albania on Thursday mourned the death of former President Bujar Nishani, who died at the age of 55 after suffering serious health issues as a result of Covid-19.
The administration announced June 2nd as a national day of mourning for the country’s sixth president on Wednesday.

Officials will pay tribute to Nishani in the presidential complex in Tirana, where Albanian President Ilir Meta will deliver a speech.
Nishani died on Saturday in Germany, where he had been admitted to a hospital for more specialist care.
In recognition of his contributions to the country, Meta bestowed upon Nishani the National Flag Title, the highest state title.
