Flooding in the central China province of Hunan has killed at least ten people and left three more missing, as per state media.
As per the Chinese news agency, storms have pounded the province since the beginning of the month, with some monitoring stations reporting record rainfall amounts.

Flooding occurs frequently in China during the summer months, especially in the central and southern regions, which receive the greatest rainfall.
In 1998, China’s greatest floods in recent memory killed over 2,000 people and ruined about 3 million dwellings, largely along the Yangtze, the country’s most powerful river.
