An Israeli missile attack early Friday targeted numerous targets south of Damascus, hurting at least one civilian, as per state media
“At 4:20 a.m. (0120 GMT), … the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression by firing a volley of missiles from the occupied Golan Heights,” Syria news agency reported.

As per the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli attacks near Damascus airport targeted arms stockpiles connected to Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shiite outfit, as well as other Iran-backed forces.
At least three such positions were hit, according to the monitor, which relies on a large network of sources across Syria. A number of individuals were injured.
Since the civil war in Syria erupted in 2011, Israel has launched hundreds of air attacks against its neighbour, targeting both government forces and allied Iran-backed forces as well as Hezbollah members.

The Israeli military claims that the strikes are vital to prevent Iran from acquiring a foothold on Israel’s southern border.
Syria’s crisis began with the ruthless repression of peaceful protests and grew to include foreign powers and international Islamists.
Nearly half of the country’s pre-war population has been forced to flee their homes as a result of the war.
