As per Britain’s defence ministry, Ukraine’s southern city of Mariupol is at risk of a catastrophic cholera outbreak since medical services are likely already nearing collapse.

(4/5) Ukraine suffered a major cholera epidemic in 1995, and has experienced minor outbreaks since, especially around the Azov Sea coast – which includes Mariupol.

It went on to say that Russia is struggling to provide basic public services to the people living in Russian-occupied regions.
Dorit Nitzan, WHO’s Ukraine Incident Manager, warned last month that Mariupol, which is currently under Russian control after weeks of siege and severe bombing, was one of the seized areas where cholera was a risk.
