Grandparents in Ohio have been arrested for allegedly participating in severe punishments. Their daughter is suspected of inflicting on her stepson, a juvenile boy who police claim was so abused that he suffered “atrophy in his legs” and PTSD.
“It’s awful if there is a victim of this sort of abuse,” Delhi Township Police Lt. Joe Macaluso said. “And it makes you ill when you have someone who is fragile, like a youngster or the old.”

According to Macaluso, the victim, his juvenile brother, and other relatives informed investigators that the punishments lasted for years. It also included forcing the youngster to stand alone in a room, hitting him, and restricting his meals.
“He was not permitted to urinate unless he had permission from mom or grandmother,” Macaluso explained. “And he wasn’t permitted to consume the same foods as everyone else.”
