Battles are currently going on in the industrial area of Siverodonetsk, Luhansk region, as Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the Azot plant. Serhiy Haidai, the chief of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, provided a Telegram update on the local situation.

The source claims that because Russian troops have amassed sufficient reserves and are mounting a massive offensive in the region, the situation along the Luhansk front is incredibly challenging. Today, hostile fire was directed at every free settlement in the area.

Haidai reports that while adjacent settlements are constantly being shelled by the enemy, the invaders are moving forward along the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway.

“Lysychansk has been suffering from massive Russian shelling throughout the day. It is impossible to determine the number of victims at the moment,” the head of the region said.

However, Haidai emphasised that the Ukrainian forces are not encircled and are still inflicting heavy losses on the adversary. He claimed that there were too many rucists occupying hospitals and cemeteries in the conquered territory.

Firefights are still going on in several villages around Siverodonetsk and Lysychansk in the Luhansk region, according to the source, while Ukraine lost control of the village of Metiolkine close to the regional capital.
