The Indictment of Andrew Gillum Provokes Speculation. On Twitter, some have speculated about what could have happened if Andrew Gillum; who is a former Democratic contender for governor of Florida; had won the election.

Nearly four years ago, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis defeated Gillum by a slim margin; some social media users noted that Gillum may still be governor today if only by a small margin.

On Wednesday, Gillum got a charge with 21 federal crimes; including making false statements to the FBI and wire fraud.

He and fellow Democrat Sharon Lettman-Hicks are accused of defrauding; “different entities” between 2016 and 2019.

Former Tallahassee mayor Gillum refuted the allegations in a written statement; and referred to the issue as “political.”
The narrow victory DeSantis had over Gillum, was pulled up by some Twitter users.
In an election with almost 8 million voters; that was a margin of just 32,463 votes.
