Vladimir Putin appears to have had little impact, with Ukrainian officials accusing Russians of commencing fire in many regions.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed the truce was an attempt to halt his country’s military progress in the east and bring in more troops and equipment.

In the eastern city of Bakhmut, where Russian forces have concentrated much of their firepower. In an attempt to advance west towards Kramatorsk, artillery fire could be heard on both sides of the front line.
