Saudi Minister of Energy addressed the opening ceremony
RIIYADH: The two-day Saudi Media Forum 2023 has officially kicked off in Riyadh and is being attended by journalists and media professionals from around the world.
The opening ceremony was attended by Saudi Minister for Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Majid Al-Qasabi.
More than 1,500 journalists from around the world, including Pakistan, are participating in the two-day events in the Saudi capital. This is the second annual international conference which aims to promote journalism and develop capacities.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman praised the role of the media in bridging the gap between different cultures.
“Thanks to information technology, the media is playing the role of a bridge between the whole world and promoting different civilizations and cultures,” he said.
However, he stressed on the need for the media to work for the promotion of peace in the world by adopting a positive approach.
Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih highlighted the importance of media. He said that thanks to the media in today’s world, there has been an immense increase in business activities which needs to be further promoted.
Saudi Minister of Information Majid Al-Qasbi and President of Saudi Media Forum Muhammad bin Fahad Al-Harithi welcomed the journalists from all over the world and shed light on journalistic issues.
It is pertinent to mentioned that the conference was first held in 2019 and the second one was delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
