Foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic nations expressed their disapproval of the United States’ decision to use its veto power, preventing the UN Security Council from urging a ceasefire in Gaza, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee repeated their plea for the US to fulfill its responsibilities and take actions to encourage Israel to agree to an immediate ceasefire.

The ministers also restated their collective opposition to Israel’s aggressive actions in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need to halt hostilities, safeguard civilians, and lift the blockade preventing humanitarian aid from reaching the war-affected region.

They expressed their disagreement with efforts to remove Palestinians from Gaza, emphasizing their stance. “creating a real political climate that leads to a two-state solution,” according to SPA statement.

A meeting took place with various ministers in attendance. Among them were Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry, Palestine’s Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad Al-Maliki, and Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Minister Hakan Fidan.
