Qatari, Iranian foreign ministers calls to discuss Gaza crisis and regional tensions

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held a telephone conversation on Thursday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss escalating regional developments, with a particular focus on Gaza and br oader Middle East stability.
According to the international media reports, both officials reviewed the ongoing situation in Gaza, the status of the ceasefire agreement, and the humanitarian and security conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
They also exchanged views on a recent U.S.-sponsored draft resolution presented to the United Nations Security Council, stressing the need for continued diplomatic coordination to safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to self-determination.
The ministers further voiced deep concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, warning that instability between the neighboring states could have wider regional repercussions. They emphasized the importance of intensifying joint efforts among regional countries to preserve peace, prevent escalation, and support constructive dialogue.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across all areas of mutual interest, noting that ongoing communication is essential for advancing cooperation and maintaining stability in the region.
