Karachi Commissioner, while enforcing section 144 Code of Criminal Procedure on open dumping of garbage, ordered arrest and punishment.
According to the details, the Karachi Commissioner enforced section 144 for two months for cleaning the garbage from the city of Quaid.
Following the order issued by the Commissioner Karachi, those who throw garbage apart from the designated garbage area can face punishment and arrest.
The order said that section 144 would be applicable for dumping garbage for two months, and a case would be registered for dumping garbage outside the designated place.
According to the order, under section 144, it will be an offence to throw garbage on any highway or street in Karachi.
It is to be noted that the Deputy Commissioners had requested for the implementation of Section 144 on dumping of garbage in the city to get rid of the garbage spread on the roads.
Earlier today, Karachi’s administration has on Friday announced to impose micro and smart lockdown across the city after rapid increase in deadly virus cases.
Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani, in a meeting attended by DCs and DHOs, took the decision to impose smart lockdown in the South, Central, East and West districts of Karachi.
Meanwhile, micro smart lockdown to be imposed in Korangi and Malir districts of the city. Shalwani said notification in this context will be issued today or tomorrow (Saturday).
The number of coronavirus cases in Karachi is rapidly increasing and the people are frequently found violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

A notification had been issued in this regard.
