In a suspected honour killing, a newlywed couple was shot dead in the site area of ​​Karachi for marrying against their family wishes.

According to the report, police said that 26-year-old Musa alias Sher Zaman and his wife Amna Ilyas alias Ruby, 24, were shot dead at their residence near Sultani Mosque.

Their bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical and legal procedures.

Area SHO Zafar Ali Shah said the couple tied the knot a month ago at MPR Colony in Orangi Town.

The couple got married against the wishes of the woman’s family.

He said that according to reports, a jirga was convened 10 days ago to resolve the issue but it appears that the woman’s brothers did not agree.

On Saturday, the woman’s two brothers, Asad and Siddique, stormed the couple’s home and opened fire on them, the SHO said.

Acid attack on a woman

On the other hand, a 21-year-old woman was badly burnt in Baldia Town when her husband threw acid on her.

SHO Saeedabad Shakir Hussain said that accused Syed Zeeshan Hussain threw acid on Rimsha during a domestic dispute in Sector 9C.

Rimsha was shifted to Burns Ward of Dr Ruth Fau Civil Hospital for medical treatment while the accused managed to escape.

According to Baldia SP Faizan Ali, the couple got married two years ago.

The victim made TikTok videos and befriended Zeeshan on social media after which they got married.
