Americans Lose Millions in Global Scam Operated by IT Companies AbTach & Digitonics

In what comes as a shock to Americans, the United States Patents and Trademarks Office (USPTO) issued a show cause notice to executives of 3 companies, AbTach, 360 Digital Marketing and Retrocube, and multiple entities operating under their name, defrauding Americans by filing illegal trademark registration applications and charging large sums of money.

Following the show cause notice, and failure of the companies and individuals to provide reasonable explanation, the USPTO further imposed sanctions in January 2022 and terminated 5,500 trademark registration applications filed by the said companies and notified all affected individuals through an official notice published on the official USPTO website.

Upon further investigation, and thorough research, it has been uncovered that the alleged companies are based in Pakistan and have been sacked by the local investigation bodies there under charges of money laundering and fraud.

The case was first highlighted by the USPTO show cause notice in September 2021, for operating dozens of fraudulent low-cost trademark filing agencies.

Eventually, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency launched a crackdown against the companies listed in the show cause notice. A formal First Information Report was filed with local law enforcement agencies, which included individuals nominated in the USPTO show cause notice from AbTach, 360 Digital Marketing & Retrocube LLC, namely Azneem Bilwani, Salman Yousuf, Irsa Farooqui, Saad Iqbal, Saqib Zubair and others.

In addition to the three companies, Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies also launched crackdown against several other companies, including Digitonics Labs Pvt. Ltd. and their employees for running a similar global scam

A Chronology of Events – How the Biggest Scam Against Americans was Exposed

November 2021– USPTO Show Cause Order: The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) had issued a show-cause notice to Abtach for operating dozens of fraudulent low-cost trademark filing agencies. The strongly-worded show-cause notice was issued against Abtach officials Azneem Bilwani, Salman Yousuf, Muhammad Saad Iqbal and Irsa Faruqui. The show-cause order was sent to senior executives of Abtach and its subsidiaries, 360 Digital Marketing and Retrocube. The companies violated USPTO’s rules of practice in activities related to dozens of low-cost trademark filing agencies including Trademark Terminal and Trademark Falcon.

January 6, 2022 – Google Bans Ads from AbTach-Owned Websites: Dozens of allegedly fraudulent low-cost trademark filing websites have been blocked by Google from advertising on its global platform after a scathing USPTO show-cause order targeting Pakistan-based IT company Abtach. The most prominent of these is Trademark Terminal, a platform that was linked to unusual activity on thousands of US trademark applications and that a related entity allegedly defrauded one victim out of nearly $150,000.

January 13, 2022 – Pakistan’s FIA Launches Crackdown: On the night of January 13, the FIA Cyber Crime Circle registered a case against the owners, executives and employees of the fraudulent IT companies including Abtach, Digitonics labs Pvt Ltd, Digi Avalon (Pvt) Limited, Digi Synergy (Pvt) Limited, Digimatics (Pvt) Limited, Digisol (Pvt) Limited, and BM Webtechnologies under the provisions of the Cyber Crime Act and Anti Money Laundering.

According to the FIR filed by the FIA, the accused had created fake email addresses in the USA, UK and other countries to deceive international customers. The accused used to steal codes from customers’ ATMs and withdraw money. The FIA also obtained a record of suspicious transactions from the company’s office. The FIA has also signaled action against more than 20 other companies involved in plots to tarnish the country’s image following the mega-scandal.
