Punjab introduces PERA force to tackle hoarding, land grabbing

LAHORE: Punjab Governmental formally inaugurated the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) to monitor and take action against hoarding, land grabbing, and illegal encroachments across the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally inaugurated the in a ceremony held at the Expo Centre.

During the event, CM Punjab inspected the newly formed PERA Force, including its vehicles and motorbikes. She also reviewed a 3D model of the PERA station, as well as various weapons, safety equipment, shields, and other advanced gadgets to be used by the force.

Expressing her satisfaction, the Chief Minister praised the inclusion of female Sub-Divisional Enforcement Officers (SDEOs), noting their presence as a positive step toward gender representation in law enforcement.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that it was a pleasure to see the specialization and training of PERA, there was no force to control artificial inflation.

She said that there should be a force to control prices, inflation, storage, storage, occupation mafia should not come, hopefully para will be a revolution but a revolution.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that the newly formed authority will consist of over 8,000 personnel.

She emphasized that PERA will actively monitor and take action against hoarding, land grabbing, and illegal encroachments. “No profiteer will escape PERA’s grip,” she stated, adding, “The greater the violation, the stronger PERA’s response will be.”
