America pulls out of historic INF treaty

Saturday 03rd August, 2019

America pull out of historic Intermediate Nuclear Force (INF) treaty after reaching deadline.

The INF treaty was signed between Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev and United States President Ronald Reagan in 1987.

American President Donald Trump marked 2nd August as deadline to pull America out of INF treaty if Russia does not come into compliance.

Russia last year was accused for deploying banned missile technology under INF treaty which Russia denied.

The breach by Russia was claimed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a statement which was later sent to NATO allied countries. NATO countries also supported US claims.

NATO head said that I wish no new arms race begins between Russia and NATO countries.

According to the details, under INF treaty 500 to 5500 km range missile manufacturing and deployment was banned.

Russia last year was accused by America and NATO allies to breach the treaty.

INF treaty became a benchmark to end arms race between America and Soviet Union.
