Indian Air (IAF) Chief laments Modi government for their incompetence in providing advance fighter jets to IAF fleet.

According to Indian media, during a seminar CAS Birender Singh Dhanoa said that Mig-21 are 44 years old war planes which are still being used by Indian Air Force.

CAS showed anger towards Modi government and said that we are still flying jets of 1973 meanwhile nobody drives cars this old.

CAS further said that they are currently working with Mig-21 parts manufactured in India in their jets and hopes that Russian fighter jets will arrive this year.

Birender Singh Dhanoa last year admitted that India lacks behind Pakistan in Air force tactics and strategy. Even if we get 200 war planes we still cannot compete Pakistan and Chinese air warfare capabilities.

Previously, on 8 March a Mig-21 planes crashed in Rajasthan after taking off from base. The cause of crash was not identified. Later again on 31 March another Mig-27 crashed in Rajasthan again and pilot went missing.

During the tensions between India and Pakistan after Balakot incident, Indian Air force used Mig-21 to attack Pakistan on 27 February but were successfully targeted by Pakistan Air force through JF-17. In that incident two Indian fighter jets were crashed and IAF pilot Abhinandan was captured by Pakistani forces. This shows the PAF’s competence against IAF.

Pakistan in a peace gesture released Abhinandan the next day to ease the tensions between the two nuclear powers. Indian media selfishly claimed Abhinandan as hero upon his return.
