In a meeting with the Iranian president and his cabinet members on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed concerns over the situation of Muslims in Kashmir.

“We have good relations with the government of India, but the Indian government is expected to adopt a fair policy towards the noble people of Kashmir, so that this region’s Muslim people would not be oppressed,” Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

The Leader also described the current situation in Kashmir and the disputes between India and Pakistan as a result of the measures by the vicious British government before its pullout from the Indian subcontinent.

He said, “The British have intentionally inflicted this wound on that region for the continuation of clashes in Kashmir.”

In his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted a series of guidelines for the cabinet members on fixing Iran’s domestic problems, describing the “economy and culture” as two main subjects that need utmost care.

The Leader called on the Iranian officials to concentrate on “domestic production” as the key to the settlement of problems, and stressed the need for efforts to cut reliance on oil incomes, pay special attention to major economic sectors including housing, agriculture and knowledge-based companies, regard local producers as the “fighters of economic war”, and pursue the goal of economic progress, uprooting poverty and promoting equality.

Ayatollah Khamenei underscored that a boom in production is based upon “human resources, capital, technology, and economic management.”

Should the guidelines be taken into account, the anti-Iran sanctions will actually turn into opportunities, the Leader stated.

Ayatollah Khamenei finally highlighted the Islamic Republic’s political, defense, and economic advances over the past decades, stressing that the enemies will not be able to take any action against Iran during the second phase of the Islamic Revolution, and that the next 40 years will be better for Iran than the first 40 years, and even worse for the enemies.
