Pakistan observes Defense Day in Solidarity with Kashmiris

Pakistan is observing Defense Day with patriotic sentiments in solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir today.

This year, Defense Day is being observed as a day to express solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.

Celebrations kicked-off with a 31-gun salute in memory of the martyrs in capital Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in all the provincial capitals.

Special prayers were held for the stability and security of the country, and for the freedom of Kashmiris after Fajr Prayers.

A ceremony was held today morning at the General Headquarters Rawalpindi, in regards to Defense Day’19.

Event was attended by the families of martyrs and ghazis. Whereas, Army Chief General Qamar Zaman Bajwa attended as the chief guest of the prestigious ceremony, dedicated to those who embraced martyrdom.

The sacrifices of our martyrs will never go in vain, the Army Chief said.

COAS, while addressing to the ceremony, said that Pakistan’s message to the world is peace and reconciliation.

Pakistan fulfilled its responsibilities whole-fully, it’s now time for UN and International community to practically prevent extremism, Army Chief added.

Paying tributes to the martyrs and Ghazis, COAS laid the floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, during the ceremony.
