Sindh Rangers carried out raids in different areas of Karachi, 22 suspects have been arrested.

According to rangers the arrested suspects include street criminals and drug dealers, while arms and drugs were recovered from the suspects and handed over to the police for legal action.

The operations were carried out in the vicinity of Korangi, Gulshan Mansar, PIB and Brigade areas of Karachi.

Earlier, the provincial interior ministry has extended rangers’ authorities for 90 days.

Sindh interior ministry has issued an official notification, according to the details.

According to the notification issued, the authorities have been extended from 4th October 2019 to 1st January 2020.

As per the anti-terrorist act 1997, rangers have certain authorities regarding raids and arrests in the Karachi division.

Rangers are granted with authorities every three months to strengthen peace in the province.

Rangers then take action against criminals by using such special rights.

It should be noted that the interior minister had extended rangers’ authorities for 90 days last year in July.

Target killers once again active in Karachi, three people have been killed, including a father and son, in four separate incidents.

Previously, On 26 September at least nine suspected criminals have been arrested during separate raids carried out by Rangers personnel in Karachi.

The raids were conducted in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Docks, Maripur, Mochko and Baldia Town, Rangers spokesperson said.

The arrested persons are involved in different cases of street crimes, whereas, the security officials also recovered illegal arms and ammunition, stolen items and narcotics during the raids.

Earlier on September 24, three suspected criminals were taken into custody during separate raids conducted by Rangers personnel in Karachi.

According to the spokesperson, two suspects, identified as Ayub Ali and Salimullah alias Jadu, were arrested during a raid on a tip-off in Awami Colony.

The suspects were allegedly involved in various criminal cases.
