Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi issued the instructions to all field offices.

The notification instructed to send seized vehicles to forensic science laboratory.

Observe excise taxation registration data and customs clearance documents to identify smuggled items, notification also instructed.

According to details, it is also instructed to field offices to identify cars with fake chips so that they can catch the suspects who are involved in it.

This initiative can reduce the smuggling and their network and the purpose of this initiative is to make Pakistan corruption free.

On the other hand Pakistan Customs in light of Prime Minister’s Steering Committee directive to prevent smuggling in the country.

Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the plague of  smuggling is a lethal poison for the country’s economy.

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting regarding the establishment of trade markets in the border areas, in which advisor of trade Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Assistant Special Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Assistant Special Yousuf Baig Mirza, secretaries of the respective departments and other senior officers were present.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that smuggling not only affects domestic resources and income but also destroys domestic industries. Effective prevention of smuggling is the priority of the government.
