Shahid Khaqan Abbasi undergone a successful surgery

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has undergone a successful Hernia surgery in a private hospital in Islamabad here on Thursday.

According to the details, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will be hospitalized for at least seven days after the operation.

The medical board has also briefed the government regarding Abbasi’s stay in hospital.

He required another 5 hours to fully regain consciousness, he was put under anesthesia to perform the surgery, sources said.

The operation had been scheduled prior on November 4 which was postponed due to Abbasi’s increased blood pressure levels on the day.

It has been revealed that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is bearing the cost of the procedure and all his healthcare amenities from his own pocket.

Earlier, The Punjab government approved to shift Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to a hospital, where he is to undergo a surgery.

According to a notification, the government was pleased to accord sanction for Abbasi’s shifting from Central Jail Rawalpindi to Shifa International Hospital Islamabad for investigation and operation/treatment.

It directed authorities to make foolproof security arrangements pertaining to his transfer and subsequent stay at the hospital.

Earlier on October 28, Abbasi’s counsel had submitted his medical reports in an accountability court hearing the LNG corruption case.

He had said that a medical board had advised his client to get his surgery done.

The court had extended his remand till November 19.
