Rajab Moon 2020 not sighted in Pakistan: Mufti Muneeb

Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has announced that the Rajab moon has not been sighted in the country meaning 1st day of the month will fall on 26 February Wednesday.

The announcement was made after the moon sighting committee held a session in the central office of Karachi’s Met Department. The session was chaired by Mufti.

The sessions of zonal committees were also held in major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar. However, no evidence of the moon sighting was received from any part of the country.

Mufti told media that 30th Jamadi-us-Sani will fall on Tuesday while Rajab will start from February 26 and Shab-e-Mairaj 2020 will be observed on March 22nd.

In the seventh month of the Islamic calendar, Rajab is regarded as one of the four sacred months in which warfare is prohibited.
