Indian police enforced lock-down across of India on Tuesday (March 24), with curfews in some places, as health officials warned that the coronavirus was spreading out of big cities, where it first appeared, into smaller areas.
According to the details, Health researchers have warned that more than a million people in India could be infected with the coronavirus by mid-May.
Earlier in the last week, the Prime Minister had said that the world had seen various crisis and challenges but the situation arising due to coronavirus was unprecedented. He further said that India was leaving no stone un-turned to overcome this menace but ‘need of the hour is to be alert and vigilant’. “Stay at home and do not step out until it is absolutely essential. I specially urge the elderly to not venture out of their homes,” the prime minister had said.

Earlier on March 19, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the people of his country to put themselves for a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday from 7am to 9pm in wake of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which has also affected India.
According to the details in a special address to the nation, Modi said: “Today I am requesting the people of the country for a Janata curfew, on March 22, this Sunday, from between 7am to 9pm.
He urged people to follow this curfew, not go out on the streets or even gather in their societies and stay inside their homes.
