Our Women Our Pride says COAS on Women’s Day

Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said in a wake of Women’s day “Our tribute to all women of Pakistan who have played pivotal role in nation building in all segments of our society. Our brave mothers, sisters, daughters especially our martyrs’ families and those serving in armed forces are pride of our nation.”

Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi (PM and President) pledged to take all measures that would help women to lead a safe, secure and prosperous life.

On the occassion on International Women’s Day PM and President in their message pledged to take all measures that would help women to lead a safe, secure and prosperous life.

President Arif Alvi on Twitter paid a glowing tribute to Pakistani women.

President quoted founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the role and power of women and shared Jinnah’s picture with his sister Fatima Jinnah, Mother of the Nation.

Quaid’s quote on women shared by the president stated: “Power of women is greater than the pen and sword.”

Women’s day is celebrated across the globe for equality which often women struggle to get. Be it workplace or any other sector, women have to face various issues like unequal pay. And, to achieve equality in society, women have been dealing with consequences for decades now.

The situation is problematic in underdeveloped countries where women are forced to face all sorts of problems including lack of education, health, safety or much more. Although the concept of women empowerment has been applauded by many, there’s a long way to get equal rights for women.

Like other parts of the world, Women’s day is enthusiastically celebrated in Pakistan as well. While there are different events being organized in honor of women and to acknowledge their part in shaping the society, we have been seeing protests and rallies in different cities of the country for the past few years.
