British Pound Plunge against Dollar after PM admitted to ICU

The British Pound slumped against Dollar and Euro after Prime Minister of United Kingdom, a coronavirus patient admitted to Intensive Care Unit.

The Prime Minister permitted to St Thomas’ Hospital last night with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.

UK Media reports that Boris Johnson moved to intensive care at roughly 7pm this evening after his condition deteriorated.

British pound fell as much as 0.3 percent against dollar to $1.223 and down roughly 0.1 per cent against euro at €1.323.

However he had been trading higher against the dollar and euro before his condition worsened.

The British Prime Minister’s medical team made decision to move him to intensive care as a precaution should he require ventilation to aid his recovery.

Boris Johnson was conscious at the time of his admission.

“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and.”

“On the advice of his medical team, moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital,” a No 10 spokesperson said.

“The Prime Minister is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.”

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has asked foreign secretary Dominic Raab, who is the first secretary of state, to deputise for him where necessary.

Furthermore BBC reports that total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK is on the rise,

With nearly 52,000 people now testing positive across the country.

A total of 5,373 people confirmed to have had the virus have died.
