Flight operation in Pakistan has been suspended till April 30, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued a notification on Saturday.

According to CAA, cargo/special and relief planes can continue operations as per the permissions granted earlier.

“As per the decision of the Government of Pakistan, the suspension of international and domestic flight operations as effected earlier has been extended up to Thursday, April 30, 2020, 11.59pm PST,” CAA said.

The new notice came as the confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan surge past 7500 and 143 deaths.

Earlier the domestic and international flight operation was suspended in Pakistan in an effort to control the spread of coronavirus till April 21.

CAA had said in an earlier notification that cargo/special, diplomatic, flights and rescue operations to and from Pakistan would be exempted.

Many countries around the world have also banned international travel since the coronavirus pandemic started spreading around the world.
