Senior leader of Mutahhida Majlis-e-Amal Munir Khan Orakzai has tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.
Doctors say that Munir Khan Orakzai is being treated at the Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar. His condition is stable.
He has been taken to the isolation ward from Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Note that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has reached 12, 227 in Pakistan with 5,046 cases in Punjab, 4,232 in Sindh, 1,708 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 656 in Balochistan, 307 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 223 in Islamabad and 55 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Also, 258 people have died of coronavirus whereas 2, 527 people have recovered.
Note that the lockdown has been extended till 9th May 2020 in Pakistan.
Shah Mahmoud Qureshi addressed Pakistanis in US through video link
Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmoud Qureshi has increased his capacity to bring back 7, 000 stranded Pakistanis from abroad every week.
He said that this number will increase in the coming weeks. He also informed that 10, 000 people have already returned.
He said, “It is our utmost endeavour to bring back all the registered 60,000 stranded Pakistanis before Eidul Fitr,”
He said that Pakistan was in a critical economic situation once again.
Shah Mahmoud Qureshi addressed the Pakistanis in teh US through a video-link in which he said that Pakistan’s exports have plunged and remittances are estimated to go down by 22 to 23 percent.
He predicted that the fiscal deficit will go up and might be decreased from 9.5 to 10 percent in the country’s GDP.
He said, “We have taken certain steps in our limited fiscal space. The government has announced an $8 billion relief package,”
