Kingdom Saudi Arabia has installed Thermal cameras in the wake of COVID-19 spread to monitor the body temperature of all the people who visit the Prophet’s (PBUH) Mosque in Madina.

According to the official Saudi Press Agency, the thermal cameras can screen the accurate  temperatures of more than 25 people at once.

The automated camera devices can provide an immediate audio and visual reading of every person who enter the Prophet’s mosque and devices has a vast range of nine meters.

The captured images and recorded temperatures can be saved for more than one month for reference and the devices also have the ability to send them directly to concerned specialists remotely when needed.

Earlier the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance announced that the decision of suspension of prayers at Mosques would not be changed, Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan will be performed only at homes.

Saudi Arabia had suspended prayers in the outer courtyards of the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina last month as part of the efforts to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile last month Friday prayers and other main prayers were also halted in mosques through out the country.

The Official Saudi Press Agency reported that only prayers permitted to continue outside the home are to be at the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina.

Kingdom has recorded 7,142 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 87 death so far and a total of 1,049 people recovered.
