Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Ayesha Farooqi said that on this auspicious occasion of Eid, Pakistan welcomes the decision of the Afghan and Taliban to ceasefire.
According to details, Dr. Ayesha Farooqi said that on the occasion of Eid, a ceasefire agreement was signed between the Taliban and the Afghan government, Pakistan welcomes the ceasefire agreement.
The Foreign Office spokesperson congratulated the Afghan brothers on the occasion of Eid and said that they pray for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
The spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted. “Pakistan welcomes announcements by the Taliban and the Afghanistan Government about ceasefire on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. While extending Eid greetings to our Afghan brethren, we pray for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.”

Earlier, the Afghan Taliban declared a three-day ceasefire on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.
According to the international news agency, the ceasefire was announced by the Taliban after the Taliban leader’s Eid-ul-Fitr message in which he said that they are abiding by the peace agreement.
Chief Executive Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah welcomed the Taliban’s announcement.
Abdullah said that he welcomed the announcement of ceasefire by the Taliban on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The announcement of ceasefire by the Taliban on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr is an important step towards peace in the country.

He said in a tweet, “I welcome the Taliban’s announcement of a three-day ceasefire during Eid-ul-Fitr as a positive step towards achieving peace. I ask the President of the I.R. of AFG to reciprocate the gesture with goodwill & announce a ceasefire during Eid days.”
“Establishing peace in Afghanistan is our first priority,” he said. We welcome every positive step towards a ceasefire and lasting peace.
Ashraf Ghani also appreciate the step of Talibans, he said on Twitter, “I welcome the ceasefire announcement by the Taliban. The Afghan government extends the offer of peace. As Commander in Chief I have instructed ANDSF to comply with the three-days truce and to defend only if attacked. Further details will be given in my speech tomorrow morning.”
