Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan gave the approval to convert coronavirus lockdown to smart lockdown.

The meeting approved the conversion of lockdown across the province into smart lockdown, which would allow the market to be open from 3 am to 5 pm.

Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani said in a tweet about the smart lockdown that shopkeepers and traders’ organizations across the province would be bound to implement precautionary measures mentioned on SOPs.

He clarified that legal action would be taken against the violators of SOPs.

In addition, provincial ministers Saleem Khosa, Mubeen Khan Khilji and Asghar Khilji said during a press conference with various organizations of Anjuman-e-Tajiran that we are moving towards smart lockdown.

He said that in view of the difficulties faced by the people and traders, some businesses are opening and the smart lockdown will continue till Eid.

They said that the shops would remain open from dawn to 5 pm while SOPs would be strictly enforced.

They further said that no more than 4 buyers will be allow to go in one shop. The shop and market which does not implement SOPs will be sealed.

On the occasion, Anjuman-e-Tajiran assured the government members of all possible cooperation during the Smart Lockdown and said that they would work closely with the government to ensure the implementations of the SOPs.

The deadly coronavirus, which has infected and killed millions of people around the world, is spreading rapidly in Pakistan and today, with more new cases coming to light, the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 26,806 while the death toll has reached 611.
